India will become one of the prominent markets for fashion retailers due to a large young adult customer base, ever-increasing disposable income and relaxed FDI norms. There is increasing participation from foreign and private players which has given it a boost.
Even though there is a huge market, still the sector is dogged with various challenges which include price war, supply chain, competition with local retailers, not able to decipher their customer to name a few. These challenges make it imperative for the retailer to have the right talent pool which does not just have the knowledge but also matures and performs with minimal training interventions.
Bloom's Taxonomy talks about how applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating something from what you learn is more important than just remembering or understanding it.
We at Elevator’s Academy believe that Business education should come with “LIVE LEARNING”. To take this thought forward we are collaborating with certain institutions for a PGDM/MBA program in Retail Management where with classes (span across 6 Trimesters) there is a parallel learning in the retail companies throughout the 2-year program. The same will be called the On-Job Training which starts with the Summer Internship and goes on till the end of the 2nd year.
The USP’s of the program would be “Earn while you Learn” and guaranteed placements in the Retail companies where the students would be doing their Internship/OJT. The domains in which the students will be provided job opportunities would be in Retail Store Operations/ Supply chain/ HR/ Buying and Merchandising to name a few.
The vision of the program is to have a program based on retail which gives the Organization a candidate who is not just academically strong on concepts but has the Hands-on experience as to what has to be done in the STORE!!
CAMPUS PLACEMENT INITIATIVES
Whether the economic impact of the coronavirus caused you to be furloughed; or limited your income, you might wonder what you can do now to prepare for a post-coronavirus job market. Whether you are not satisfied with your campus placement job; or you are in need of a job which can give a longevity in your career, & yet you might have been continuing that same old short-term job, now’s the time to break the monotony of your career.
Global pandemic aside and regardless of a recession, it’s always a good idea to build resiliency into your career to safeguard yourself when faced with disruptions in the job market. It's never been more important to keep building your skill set. The only constant in our workplaces is change, and professionals who commit to updating their skills are the ones that will be most adaptable in a post-coronavirus job market.
We at Elevator's Academy have come up with Campus Placement Initiatives which will be looking after the skill development, launching of courses related to current trends & collaborating with certain academic institutions for campus placements as well. So we will be providing these benefits under this Initiative:
Resume Session
3 rounds of GD- 1 round of PI
Identification of Area of Improvement
PI with Industry Professionals
JD based Preparation
There are always more skills to learn, no matter what your industry or position is. We will do an audit of your skills to determine educational priorities. We will not only evaluate your technical skills but also your soft skills such as communication and time management prowess and transferrable skills—those skills that are valuable in a variety of positions and industries.
For the placements the expected salaries will be between the range (5-8 Lakhs p.a) for all specializations. Our intention is to provide stable jobs along with good career roles & not to target those industries which will give unstable profiles (In current trends certain Ed-tech companies are doing this).
